Now Hiring: Nurse Practitioner, PA, DO, or MD experienced in Functional Medicine who loves helping adults with chronic health problems get their health back.
Are you a self-motivated, high-performing clinician who thrives in a patient-centered, results-driven environment?
Who We Are
The Healthy Human, founded by Dr. Avery Carpenter, is a natural health practice in Chattanooga, TN that helps people who are struggling with chronic health issues get to the root of the problem so that they can heal and get back to living life.
We see people 16 years and up with conditions like autoimmunity, diabetes, digestive issues, hormone issues, mold illness, long Covid, Lyme, and “mystery illnesses.” We support them structurally, chemically, and mentally. To do that, we use Functional Medicine, Applied Kinesiology, labwork, nutrition, and biotechnology tools like PEMF, Frequency Specific Microcurrent, and more.
We are a small, upbeat, cash-based practice with incredibly nice patients. We have a long waiting list and need help serving more people.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is at the heart of our mission and we’re looking for someone exceptional to fill it.
As a nurse practitioner on our team, you’ll be a trusted guide and problem solver, creating personalized treatment plans for patients who have struggled to find answers elsewhere. You’ll hold space for them through their healing journey, offering compassion, critical thinking, and accountability to ensure real progress.
We’re looking for a self-motivated, high-performing clinician who thrives in a patient-centered, results-driven environment. You take pride in excellence—not because someone’s watching, but because it’s who you are. You embrace growth, value collaboration, and contribute beyond your job title when needed.
How We Work
At The Healthy Human, our success is measured by how much we move the needle for our patients.
We work hard because we love the process. But we also know how to enjoy the journey – to laugh, connect, and have fun along the way. To us, excellence and enjoyment aren’t opposites; they go hand-in-hand.
If you’re looking for a cushy job where you clock in, check off tasks, and head home without a second thought, this isn’t the place for you.
This is a place for people who love what they do so much that work doesn’t feel like “work.” Sure, we set boundaries and recharge when necessary, but the truth is – when you’re doing work that matters, it’s hard not to think about it even when you’re off the clock.
We are a team of high performers who take pride in our work, constantly improve our skills, and push each other to raise the bar. Everyone contributes at their highest level.
If you thrive in an environment where excellence and enjoyment go hand-in-hand, where learning never stops, and where your dedication makes a real impact on people’s lives, we want you here.
Our Culture
At The Healthy Human, our culture is grounded in excellence, accountability, and heart. Whether we’re with patients or collaborating behind the scenes, we show up fully – driven by a shared mission to transform lives and redefine what’s possible for our patients’ health.
It’s about how we show up every single day. It’s reflected in the way we treat each other, the way we tackle challenges, and how we take ownership of our roles without needing constant oversight. Our team is made up of self-starters who hold themselves to the highest standard and take pride in producing exceptional work.
We live by these three core values:
1. Patients Get Results
Our success is measured by the success of our patients. We operate with urgency, respect, and care, ensuring every patient feels supported and empowered. If patients aren’t getting the care and results they deserve, we course-correct quickly – because their transformation is at the center of everything we do.
2. All For One and One For All
Every person on our team owns their role and responsibilities fully – knowing that their contributions directly impact the practice’s growth. With that said, when challenges arise, we step up, take initiative, and support one another.
3. Be Better Every Day
We believe growth is a daily practice and learning is life-long. Whether it’s learning a new skill, refining our processes, or finding innovative solutions, we’re constantly pushing to improve. This mindset extends beyond personal development – it fuels the evolution of our practice and drives better outcomes for our patients.
